Historical List of Projects funded by Poinsettia Sales
Over more than 20 years the money generated from
selling poinsettias has allowed the Live Oaks
Garden Club to spend more than $100,000 in our beloved Golden Isles. Below you will find a list of
many of our projects past and present.
- New plantings and continued maintenance of the Butterfly Garden and Rose Garden on Demere Road.

New plantings and continued maintenance of the Pier Planters in the village.

New plantings and continued maintenance of the Village Pot Plantings on all the corners.

Donated money to Brunswick for their Liberty Brunswick Project. 4 Oak Trees were planted in Wright Square in honor of the 99 Liberty Ships that were built here. In addition 1 Oak Tree Tree was planted at entrance to the Liberty Ship Park and 5 Red Bud Trees at Howard Coffin Park.

Provided landscaping at the St. Simons Land Trust's Harrington and Gilbert Nature Trail Properties.

Replanted shrubbery around the Lighthouse Keeper's House.

Gave money to the SS Land Trust for the Gilbert Trail.

Partnered with the SSI Land Trust and the Sea Island Corp. to landscape the roundabout at Frederica Road and Demere Road.

A donation was made to the SSI Land Trust for the Musgrove Project.

Partnered with other civic groups to provide trees, landscaping and irrigation for the Gateway entrance to the island.

Planted 40 Live Oaks trees along Airport Road. We have continued to water and fertilizer them for many years.

Partnered with Sea Island to provide trees and landscaping at the Glynn Visual Arts Center.

Partnered with the Garden Council to plant crepe myrtles at the tennis courts and 2 oak trees in Demere Park.

Planted two oak trees to thank St. Simons United Methodist Church.

We planted an oak tree in the Saint Simons Park in memory of our first president.

Provided landscaping for Jekyll Square in Brunswick.

Donated a bench to Hanover Square in Brunswick.

We planted two oak trees by the miniature golf course in Neptune Park.

Provided money for repairs to the irrigation system at Mary Ross Park in Brunswick so that shade trees could be planted.

Planted shrubs and flowers at a Habitat for Humanity house in Brunswick.

Provided money for a family to establish a vegetable garden as part of a Habitat for Humanity project.

Planted the Justice Tree at the Glynn Co. Court House after winning a legal case in which a driver destroyed a Live Oaks Garden Club tree.

Planted an Oak Tree at Harrington Park.

Made contributions to Keep Golden Isles Beautiful, The St. Simons Land Trust, Golden Isles Fund for Trees, Hand in Hand Glynn, the Cassina Garden Club for their "Save the Cabins" project, and the Nunnally House.
